SESSION 19: IMAGES
PART 1: IMAGE FORMATSACTIVITY
- JPEG: (short for Joint Photographic Experts Group) images are “full-color images that dedicate at least 24 bits of memory to each pixel, resulting in images that can incorporate 16.8 million colors,” and are frequently referenced by their file extension, JPG
- GIF: (Graphics Interchange Format) only display a maximum of 256 colors; as a result, GIFs are great for images with simple illustrations and blocks of colors, like logos and icons, but probably not the best option for photographs.
- PNG:(Portable Network Graphics), offer a wide range of attractive features, including “a full range of color depths, support for sophisticated image transparency, better interlacing, and automatic corrections for display monitor gamma

PART 2: ORGANIZING IMAGES
The web provides us with many different tools to organize our photos and albums. ACTIVITY:
1.Find pictures of the school in the internet, and create a slideshow (album) with them, using FLICKR. Then upload into your blog.

SESSION 14: INTERNET SAFETY
LEARN ABOUT HACKERS. VIRSUSES AND INTERNET SAFETY AND IMPORTANT WORLD ISSUES
TASK 1: PLAY THE GAME OF PETER PACKET. Learn how the packets of information are carried through the web. In this website you’ll follow the adventures of Peter Packet his trip deliver his packets of information against viruses and hackers. Choose a level, “beginner” or “advanced”
Click on the “captions” icon to read and listen to the information. Play the games and answer these questions:
What is a hacker? Hackers are nasty sort. The try to steal the information that packet carry like Credit Card numbers and passwords, and illegally accessing computers.
What is a virus? Virus also attack computers and servers. They cause problems like sending emails that you haven’t written and destroying information stored inside computers.
What is a router? The router moves information along the Internet by finding the shortest and fastest path to the destination computer.
What can happen when packets of information are sent by internet? That hackers can steal their information, and virus can delete the information or copy.
TASK 2: Choose one of the three missions: Haiti, Zimbabwe or India and do all the activities.
In Haiti the family of Pierre doesn’t have clean water; they have to go to the river to take water to drink. But ten years after there isn’t clean water and all the water it’s going to be contaminated. For this cause Pierre sent an email to Life Clean Water to have a structure to clean all the water free.
TASK 3: INTERNET SAFETY. The Internet has a wealth of information, but it can also be dangerous, especially for kids. How can kids be safe when they chat or blogger use the Internet? Think about two aspects: technical safety and personal safety.
